Bhartiya Samaj of Central Florida is a cultural organization ("Samaj") based in Polk County, Florida. Our samaj has grown to be one of the most active Indian organizations in Florida, and conducts many exciting cultural and recreational events that bring more than 300 Indian families together.
Our fundamental mission is to:
1. Maintain, enhance, understand, and appreciate our Indian culture and heritage
2. Encourage friendship and oneness among members with entertainment and cultural events, and
3. Educate the next generation about our rich customs, traditions and festivals
We celebrate the major Indian festivals like Diwali, Navratri, Holi and Makarsankranti. To pass on the cultural values to our kids, we organize a talent show on Independence day. Our annual picnic at the Mary Holland park in Bartow is popular for a fun-filled day including games, events, food and of course - Cricket! Periodically, we organize and facilitate traditional music shows and dramas ("Natak").
Our members are first and second generation immigrant families from different parts of India, bringing diversity and richness to the Samaj with their different faiths, languages and cultures.
